Meet Us

DIRECTOR OF JEWISH STUDENT LIFE

Craig Fox is the Director of Jewish Student Life. He is a Halifax native that before being involved in Hillel has worked in the community as a paramedic. Craig has also lived in Israel and completed a full combat service in the Israel Defence Forces, and spent time on a religious kibbutz where he learned to speak Hebrew. As well, Craig has experience with Jewish and Israel advocacy in Canada and is happy to bring that experience to campus. Craig is excited to be a part of working with the Jewish students of Atlantic Canada while they grow both in their communities and their Jewish lives. Please feel free to reach out on our contact page with any questions you may have.

STUDENT BOARD INTERNAL PRESIDENT

Molly Rookwood is the Student Board Internal President of Hillel Atlantic this year. Having grown up in Boston, Molly moved to Halifax three years ago to study at the University of King’s College, where she is currently working through a degree in Early Modern Studies and English. She is very active in the university community through singing in the King’s Chorus and working at the King’s Library, and served as Hillel’s Jewish Life chair in the 2015-2016 school year. Formerly, Molly danced with an Israeli dance troupe in Boston, went to Habonim D’ror’s Camp Galil in Pennsylvania, and spent six weeks in Israel, also with Habonim D’ror. Molly is very excited about the direction Hillel Atlantic is moving in, and loves to engage with the Halifax Jewish community, whether by feeding them Shabbat dinners or by kvelling with them over summer camp memories.
